Happy friendship day: get good friends

Happy friendship day!

Here in India, the first Sunday of August, every year is marked as "friendship day."

Malls and discotheques have arranged exciting activities to celebrate friendship day.

United Nations Organization has declared July 30, as International friendship day, but in many countries, it is celebrated on the first Sunday of August, every year.

Good friendships are vital for us. Always try to widen our friendship circle by networking and socializing. Networking means our friends are our friends' friends. True friends that support us both in our good and bad days are a gift. At the same time weed out toxic friendships as soon as possible. True friends co-operate, never manipulate. It is a harmonious relationship, not materialistic.

I wish all my friends a wonderful friendship day!
  • Nurture good friendships. Make it work, carefully develop a good relationship. Adopt a give and take attitude, co-operate, extend help, and above all love each other.

Hi Rajiv, Happy friendship day. That's a very nice saying. It's true give and take is very important to maintain a good friendship.
And I really scared with those jealous and possessive people. It sure make me stand 5 feet away from them. LOL

Have a great weekend, regards.

Thank you Amelia.

Today you also celebrate friendship day in your Country?

Lucky those who get good friends who remain with them through thick and thin. Very rare to find such people, though.

Happy Friendship Day to you. It is indeed great to have one day to commemorate friendship but 364 other days to be one good friend to all. May this blog of yours be the link between our friendship. All the best!

Rajiv Sankarapillai said...

Thank you so much.

Anything like this in Norway?

Rajiv Sankarapillai said...

Thanks a lot, my dear friend.

Make a new friend, online or offline, every day. Search all the time for good friends. Collect ! Make it very clear that you value 'good' friendships ! No bad company !

Do you celebrate such a day there?

No, never heard this one here in Thailand. Maybe there should because friends are important components of our existence and living. I always long for positive friends.

Hi Michelle, thank you so much.

Note the day, it is 30 July, every year in your place ! Please check. Have a blast next time.

Rajiv Sankarapillai said...

Hello, thanks.
Good, get to know someone new every day. Who knows that person can become a true friend in course of time and vice versa.

Remember this, true friends last a life time !

If there is no friendship day in Thailand, you start one next year. Have a blast !

Hey Rajiv, happy friendship day to u too! It's great knowing a witty guy like you. Cheers!

Witty ? lol, I don't know if I have ever written something witty, anywhere. I regularly read onlike jokes but I haven't written ever a good joke. Well, planning to join a laughter club asap so that I can simply laugh for no reason. I heard there no jokes are needed for a good laugh.

Anyhow, you have given me an idea for a post. Jokes and laughter ! Will do it asap.

Thanks for your compliment. Friendship day is a nice concept that I like. Such occasions prompt people to think critically about relationships and friendships. We gain much insights into such things during this time. In India there are lot of criticisms about these so called "days" emphasizing the commercial aspects of such celebrations. Big hue and cry when people in India began celebrating Valentines day some years ago. Now things are much better :) here!

Do you celebrate friendship day in Singapore?

DWei said...

Huh, I think more countries need this marked on their calenders.

Yes, you are absolutely right. Good friendship is something very precious. Like a small plant, we have to look after it well and develop it in a good way. Avoid personality conflicts, and avoid hurt. Get to know at least one new person every day; develop a relationship, it may develop into a beautiful friendship. Enlarge friends'circle.

Thanks for the comment. Have a nice day ahead.

U're certainly one smart blogger with all those lovely & informative comments in my blog :) It's always nice to carry some sense of humour too, isn't it? Friendship Day isn't a big thing here compared to the US, I guess......

Agree totally ! Humor is something very precious.

In India it is slowly becoming popular. Social media have been active during the last friendship day in India.

Thanks a lot, Shirley !
